While many area startup companies are watching their budgets, one startup (Lotame) is expanding. They just hired a new COO and opened new offices in Boston and San Francisco. One has to wonder if their expansion is a result of success or their recent $13 million series B. At least one other startup that I have talked to recently has recieved a sizeable cash infusion recently. Others are very optimistic. I got a call yesterday from one that is close to closing a round of of angel investment. Of course if you have been following the major media companies in the news you know that the New York Times is quickly slipping deeper into the red and so many others including Comcast (they recently announced big cuts in DC). Even google isn’t immuned to the current economic situation. There has been much talk about their efforts to line things up for cuts.
