This week and next there are a couple of events that are worth attending for designers, developers and startup entrepreneurs in the DC area.  Here they are:

Refresh DC, Thursday, October 23, 2008 (Jason Garber from Mixx on taking things from design to development)

Open Coffee DC, Monday, October 27, 2008 (Two DC based VC’s and a Launchbox Digital (incubator) principal will be there to chat)

Social Dev Camp East, Saturday, November 1, 2008 (This event is heavily tilted toward developers, but there will also be some good discussions about the startup community.)

Social Matchbox DC, Tuesday, November 18, 2008 (This is our open mic night for startups event featuring short intro presentations, networking and product demos.)

A general note regarding events in the DC tech community.  I’ve noticed that there are a lot of different places where people are posting events these days and just want to point out that if you see the event posted somewhere please take a moment to make sure that it is posted to DCTechEvents.com if you did not find it there.  Some people have found it useful to their own ends to post these events under their own banner, even though it isn’t their event, in places like Meetup where you have to register/login to their group to get details on the even.  Event information should be free and accessible to the public – DCTechEvents.com does a great job of serving the community in this regard and we (as a community) should support that.
